Customer Reviews

Great...mostlyI'm a huge fan of McFarlane's Halo 3 line, but the first War Chieftain I bought broke almost as soon as I removed it from the package. When I tryed to turn the hand, it twisted right off it's peg. When you are loosenign this figure up, move its hand up and down or left and right or something before you try to TURN it. Do NOT TURN until the wrist joint is loose. 3Not really a toyI was very disappointed in this and all the McFarlane figures I purchased for my son. When it came to playing with these "toys" they break with seemingly normal movements of the joints and its not long before they are in pieces. They are very cheaply made and are meant to be display items only, in my opinion. So if you are purchasing with a youngster in mind be aware. 1Looks good, can't handle it's own gun.First off. The hands are terrible, the right hand in particular. Do NOT twist them if you don't want to super glue them. In general, this figure can't hold it's weapon.Overall it looks splendid and if you want it just for posing, it works. not very durable as a toy. Sadly there are other, unrelated figures that can hold this figure's accessories better than it can. 3Love this productLove this product, great details, killer gold armor! Alil difficult to pose, just be careful & patients it'll do what you want! 5War Chieftain Breaks Too EasilyA real world story ...Because of an unbelievable holiday price, I purchased two of these, one as a Christmas gift for my 12 year-old son, and one for the collectible value later on.On Christmas morning, it took less than 5 minutes for the War Chieftain's left hand to break off as my son was trying to position it. It does appear to be a movable joint. While my son is generally careful with his toys, I assumed he must have done something wrong for it to break so quickly. In an effort to make it look like a "super repair" job, I decided to secretly substitute the extra one I bought with the broken War Chieftain. I opened the package and looked at the left hand. It appeared movable. I gently tried to position it as he had intended (so it could hold the weapon). As soon as I did, I could just tell the turn had twisted the plastic and not actually moved at the joint. With one more movement it would be just as the one my son had .... oops, too late. Yes, it had broken just as the first one had, and I did it to the second one. This is not durable as a toy. It should only be purchased if you want to display it as a collectible with minimal handling, not actually play with it. 1Halo 3 Brute ChieftainThis Brute Chieftain is a very large, detailed Halo 3 figure. His helmet is removable, and he can be posed with or without the Fuel Rod Gun. However, unlike the Halo 3 Series 3 - Elite Combat Soldier, his shoulder armor is not intentionally removable. It is difficult to pose the Chieftain with the Fuel Rod Gun, with the barrel parallel with his line of vision. Its also hard to get his left hand to touch the gun while the right hand is gripping the handle. Also, when I made the right hand grip the handle, the trigger broke off. I couldn't see a way to get the hand to grip the handle with the trigger there. However, the detail on this toy is amazing. Although he has a lot of weight above his waist, the large feet help balance the Chieftan in many different positions. 4Great toy for Halo FansWe purchased this toy for my son who is a big Halo fan. He has quite a few of them and we have had very good luck with them. There are a lot of small pieces (armor, guns, etc.) that can be easily lost. Other than the small pieces we have had very few issues with the Halo line of toys. 4halo expertThis toy was very fun accept for the fact it was not very movable. The head can move side to side. Its arms can move up and down and its legs can just barley move back and forth. When I received it in the male I tried to twist the hands and one of them broke off. Then attempting to hold the gun with the broken hand, the trigger broke off as well. We are going to fix it with super glue as we have done with other Halo items. If you buy this item or any other brutes, don't twist the hands and be careful with the guns. 4Ffom a fangirl's viewI am a jiralhanae expert/fangirl and the war chieftain is my favorite brute class in Halo 3.None of the pieces in my war chieftain had ever broken off. The only issue that I had while trying to get his fuel rod in his hand was trigger falling off.If ANYONE wants to take CARE of their toys, don't FORCE anything to move.My War Chieftain is in perfect shape, and he's gorgeous in design in detail.Take my advice on the Fuel Rod gun- There is away to OPEN the handle underneath where the trigger is. Gently split that grey part open and SLIDE IT into his hand. Then you reattach it into place. no problem at all.And just because these figures are meant to be durable doesn't mean you can bend it over backwards while taking it out of the box and still expect it to be in perfect shape.Just my advice; since I am extremely careful with my collection at all times. 5Collector's onlyHand broke off. These aren't made for playing. My kid doesn't play rough with them and the halo line is usually losing a hand or arm. And I really wish they'd just come with the helmet molded on. For the life of me I can't get it to stick. 2
