Customer Reviews

Stunning Figma FigureI'm fairly new to the world of collecting figures, but after picking up another Figma Nintendo piece, I couldn't help myself, and simply HAD to get this Samus figure. I have absolutely no regrets about this purchase- I'm so thoroughly impressed with the quality of the figure and the articulation that I haven't stopped thinking about fun ways to pose it (usually as a distraction while at work, ha.)The colors are what they're supposed to be, the fine details are all there, and I'd say this is an accurate depiction of my favorite gaming Heroine. It's fairly easy to pose, though sometimes the legs don't want to agree with me.I feel like I should mention that one of the legs likes to pop off if I don't move it quite the way it wants to- but it pops back on with ease, so I don't feel that it warrants losing a star. It's still a fantastic figure, and I WILL be purchasing more from "Good Smile" as soon as I'm able. 5Samus Aran is ready for action! When I heard that Samus was getting the figma treatment I was skeptical at first, however, as soon as I pulled this figure out of the box I knew that it was fantastic. The armor's paintjob and highlights really make it look authentic and the visor really completes the look. It also comes with another nozzle for her arm canon's missile mode and two projectile attacks, however the best things that this figure comes with are swap-able hands, a clear stand, and a morph-ball accessory. The stand caught my attention as not all figures come with them, so this was appreciated due to all of the additional poses that it allows. The hands are good because Samus can hold her arm canon steady, react in surprise, or congratulate the player with a thumbs up hand. She also has a hand to hold stuff with incase you want to give her Link's Master Sword or another accessory. The Morph Ball really completes the figure since it's an iconic object from Metroid and can allow for more creative ideas. As my first figma, this brand is a bit different from S.H.Figarts or Super Robot Chogokin, but it holds together well and seems to be able to handle the occasional tumble as long as Samus's feet are on the ground. Samus's articulation is a thing of beauty, as she can assume standard poses, though the waist joint is a little tricky and the head's a bit difficult for me to turn. There's also some noticeable black pins that connect the arms to the chest that can be visible, but the right poses should cover this particular issue up. I've had this product for about two months now and it's still as shiny and new feeling as when I first received it.Any real gripes I would have would be that the arm canon's mode can be difficult to swap, but that's about it. If you're a Metroid fan, or want to try out the figma line, look no further than this figure. 5Best figures around I seen that arn't hand painted.Beautiful figure, but what to you expect from the best. These figures are great for the price. As in, they're as good as a lot of the 100 dollar US figures. For 40! if you're a fan of games, anime, vocaloids or anything like that. Look for these good smile, best things you can get. The detail is amazing, and I am one for detail. Very nicely posable, you do have to work with them a bit as all of them are slightly different. The weight is great, they're solid not some cheapy hollow seamed junk. You can't even see seems really. Only peeve with this one was no morph ball stand that I saw. Other than the 1/12th scale hand painted figures nothing beats these, but theyre also half the price at least. 5My 9th figma and one of my new favsFirst I'll say this, Samus is huge. Like the tallest one I have yet, I thought miku 2 was tall, yeah right not next to this one. Also, she's wicked shiny and it fits the armor theme for it to be that way almost all over. Super posable, more so than every other figma I have. The morph ball looks cool I mean I don't know what to do with it but hey, more cool stuff no complaints. Only 4 extra hands, but they're big hands, and it's only left hands since her right arm is a shooter. The blasts/shots accessories look real cool in action scenes and I'm keeping one on her where she's displayed.10/10 great figure I'd even recommend it to someone looking to buy their first figma as she doesn't fall apart easy and setting her up is a piece of cake compared to some other figmas, like BRS or Miku 5WonderfulSamus Aran has been one of the very few videogame heroines that hasn't been ridiculously sexualized all the time, so I've always find it a shame that there weren't any action figures of her. It's ironic that when we actually got one it came thanks to the one game most critiziced for ridiculously sexualizing her.In any case, it was worth the wait. This is one of the greatest action figures I've ever seen. They really pulled no punches when making it. The design is perfect. You could swear Samus got hold of a piece of Ray Palmer's dwarf star matter and shrinked to pint-size. The color tones are slightly different compared to the pictures up there, but they're pretty spot-on compared to the game model. The best thing is the articulation. You can pose Samus in practically any pose you can think of and then some. Take any picture of Samus from a game or a promotion poster and you will be easily able to duplicate it (provided we're talking about the armored Samus, of course). The swiveled stand the figure comes with will help even more at making the figure hold the pose.Besides the articulation, Samus comes with more than a few accesories. There are five left hands total (no right hands because of the arm canon, of course), two different gunfire blasts, a "missile-style" gun muzzle and Samus morphball, which, technically speaking, rather than an accessory is another figure altogether. The gripping hand is, I have to say, a curious accessory, since there's nothing for Samus to grip. Well, you can grip one of the gunfire blasts, which kind of makes it look like a club, but I suppose the real reason for it is to grip the stand's swiveled arm.All in all, this figure puts most of my 6-inch figures to shame. I absolutely adore it and I really hope they release another figure from these games. Maybe a Samus sans-armor, or another suit, like the Gravity suit or the Fusion version. How about a Dark Samus? Topping this figure will be a challenge for sure. 5Great for displayThis is a very neat Samus Aran action figure - but the emphasis is definitely on the posing and static display of Samus rather than having her in the hands of a 10-year old chasing down bad guys on the family room floor. The Samus I received only had one minor paint blemish but the rest of the figure shined and looked great. The included posing stand is very helpful for putting her in all sorts of action-y positions. The figure is a little small in my opinion, considering the cost. The box states that this is not for those under 15, and they mean it. I accidentally popped a leg off myself - but putting it back on was easy. However, a child would destroy Samus in a way that Ridley and the Space Pirates never could. 4Really nice figure.Surprisingly well made figure with lots of potential poses. Looks the part but I can't help but feel the amiibo- despite it's size captures more detail, that said this is made off Other M and the Amiibo is off smashbrothers where they tried to make the suit look better than it was represented in the terrible Other M. As it stands the figure looks fantastic and I think the paint job captures the series overall.Anyway! I dunno what others are complaining about with color, the thing looks spot on with both of my monitors- I think many fail to realize monitors aren't all the same and often don't represent color the same. Samus' Varia suit here looks how it should and not the snot green/yellow shown in the game. She poses well and can stand on her own depending on how you pose her, though caution as others have said the legs do fall off easy but are just as easily snapped back on.DO NOT BUY THIS AS A TOY TO PLAY WITH. Limbs do not stay on body if they're moved about, the figure is simply not made for that. The extras are very nice, 3 hands and the morph/morphing ball with 2 different cannon shots so you can really dial in how you want it/her posed. 5Great for what you need! While I have purchased many play arts, play arts kai, D arts, monster arts, and even a couple revoltech, I have never tried a figma. Samus did not disappoint. She has great detail, articulation, and paint. My only problem is a speculative one. Since she does not us any ratcheting joints, I fear that her joints may become loose over time. Like I said this is speculation and do not know if this will happen. One other minor gripe is the accessories. While the hands are cool, I would have liked to see a rocket with a smoke trail, since they give you a rocket version of her blaster, and for the price it would have been cool to see a helmetless head. Once again, this is minor and does not take away from this awesome figure.oh as an added bonus, I could see this as a playable toy. the peaces feel solid and the paint seems durable. I would not be too worried if this ended up in a child's hands....... a careful child 5Great Blast from the Past Samus FigureI have 4 Figma figures now and they honestly never cease to amaze me. They have excellent and plentiful articulation, great paint apps, good molds, a good amount of accessories included, and a very good likeness to the characters they are representing. Metroid was one of the first games I played as a child besides Mario Bros and it was an amazing game in a time where video games didn t hold your hand to make sure you beat them. The big reveal of Samus being a woman at the end of the game is part of video game history and made her one of the most influential characters along with Mario, Zelda, and Lara Croft. This figure lives up to her legend well. The figure generally matches the colors of what looks like the original Samus power suit but it's been a long time since I've seen it. It looks great and really takes you back. The paint is also done very clean and there aren't any sloppy points that I can see. I also really like the reflective paint on the visor for the added effect. The mold is flawless and the nature of the suit also helps to hide the joints nicely. I think there is a lot more detail in the mold than the paint. The articulation is standard for figma down to the toes and there is roughly 22+ points of articulation. They are stiff enough to hold a pose but not too stiff to move. The accessories are maybe a bit light for figma. It comes with sets of hands, two different blasts, an open blaster part, the figma stand and plastic bag for parts, as well as Samus ball bombing formation. I would have loved to see an unhelmeted head or maybe a metroid but the bomb ball formation was a welcomed addition.Figma makes great figures and although I have seen other reviews talking about breaking parts, I have not encountered this myself but will update my review if I find it to be too fragile. I don't know how many Metroid/Samus figures are available but if you're a fan of the series I can definitely recommend this. 5I can position Samus just like she looks in the games or on the covers ...Wife bought me this because I'm such a huge Metroid fan. This is without a doubt the coolest figure I own. I can position Samus just like she looks in the games or on the covers of magazines. The paint finish looks fantastic! All the little details just make this perfect. It also has switchable blaster ray options for the standard gun or missle launcher as well as different hands and her ball form. It was really fun making stop animation videos with those or posing her in front of my Mother Brain desktop wallpapers.Pros-Excellent priceExcellent build and paint qualityPoses in every way she does in the gamesFantastic extras like ball and blaster modesCons-Wish it was bigger (not really a con still love it) 5
