Customer Reviews

Five StarsA great story of how of small town Iowa success. 5Interesting and informative!I purchased this as a gift for my father-in-law, but my husband and I enjoyed reading it as well. It's a good-sized hard-cover book with lots of pictures and illustrations, personal anecdotes and business history. It was recommended to us by a friend and it seems to be a great purchase. I look forward to giving it to my father-in-law on his birthday. I know he'll enjoy it as he knew the owner of Kinze personally. 5Five StarsGood read. Awesome example of American Engenuity! 5Amazing biographyExcellent read. Well written and shares alot of great stories through his years in farming, engineering, and business. Great insight into his lawsuit with John Deere. 5Anyone involved in production agriculture would appreciate the quality of ...Anyone involved in production agriculture would appreciate the quality of writing that went into this book about a man of faith who changed how we farm and gives all the glory to the Lord. A must read for the avid tinkerer too, well done Jon and family ! 5Wonderful BookPurchased this for our son, who farms. He is not an avid reader, but he devoured this book. He absolutely raved about it and has shared the book with others as well. 5(Ag and industrial history were/are my favorite histories. I worked in the state of the ...HI Jon, do hope you and all out in my hometown of Williamsburg, Iowa are doing well. I'm keeping Kinze in my thoughts and prayers during this economic down in the agriculture industry. This is from Willard Maas's oldest daughter...and still a farmer at heart! (Ag and industrial history were/are my favorite histories. I worked in the state of the art museum here as their registrar in those histories for years...always interesting. Your book was one of the best! All history is local!) 5The product was FAR superior to anything else on the marketI found this book to be incredibly motivating in several ways.First, I had no idea that John Kinzenbaw is a strong believer in Jesus Christ. Throughout this book, he shows how he has been able to show his faith in his workplace.Second, it is clear that John has never had any fear about diving in on a new idea. Rather than thinking about why it wouldn't work, he instead focuses on how to make it work.My family bought one of his early rear-fold corn planters in 1977, right in the middle of the battle with John Deere. The product was FAR superior to anything else on the market. The folding mechanism was unlike anything marketed before that time. Neighbors would come around and want to see the planter fold and unfold. (Photos of the tractor and planter attached). While quite complex in design, the planter folded entirely mechanically with no hydraulics at all. Simply unlatch a latch on each side, then "drive forward FAST". Both 'wings' would fold around to the rear and automatically latch into place. What an amazing invention! If you love to 'tinker' and build things with a welder, you will find John's book to be interesting and inspiring. 5Excellent. A must read for anyone interested in ag ...Excellent. A must read for anyone interested in ag machinery. 5Great Gift for Farmer DadThis was a gift for my Dad for his birthday. He has been looking for this book for a few months, and was so thrilled to get it he read it in the first day. He has been a farm equipment researcher, expert, and connoisseur my whole life, so it's fun to get him things that he enjoys! 5
