I wanted a Skytrain for the main reasons - its importance and the gilt-edged DC-3 contribution to aviation, its contributions to D-Day (and others), and that my injured British Dad was flown home in a USAAF C-47.In its diminutive 1/144 scale typically "larger" aircraft don't impress - the detail either isn't there or looks overdone - but this model hits that challenge admirably. BTW, is it me or is the scale not shown anywhere on the box? The only slight negative is the wheels are up so it must be on its stand but I can very happily live with that minor criticism. 5Attention to detail was perfectUsed it as a birthday cake toper for my father in law whose birthday is just a few days after d day and this being his favorite plane ever made it made it a very special day. The plane now rests on his desk with its decorative stand helping to smile everyday. I have to admit that the attention to detail on this model was excellent and we were disappointed by nothing about it. 5A nice model of a C-47A nice model of a C-47. The model isn't too small but it isn't too big either so to me that's good. The propellers as usual are plastic and can be broken. The C-47 comes painted with invasion stripes on the back half of the fuselage as well as the wings. As far as I know the paint scheme on this C-47 can't be changed so you get what you get. 5FantasticThis model is extremely accurate with excellent workmanship. This C-47 is pretty heavy and I was concerned if the plastic base would continue to hold the model over the years. No options for landing gear, if so those would have to be die-cast as well. Perfect timing on the shipping in relation to the 75th D-Day Anniversary. 5
